Originally from Shetland I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2000. In 2001 I started work as a technician for Project Ability and became self employed as a sessional artist and filmmaker. In 2005 my wife and I founded Southside Studios in Govanhill. Over the years my skills have developed and increased, covering graphic design, ceramics, painting, printing, filmmaking, studio and gallery management, carpentry, plastering and of course piping. This site aims to bring all these skills to you so if you have a project, get in touch.

I have worked as an technician for Project Ability for 20 years. This photograph is of Cameron Morgan and his artwork in a gallery in Belfast 2019. So much goes into making the work. My role was firing the ceramics, framing the prints, building bespoke shelves and plinths, transporation and installation. With 20 year experience I can help realise your project from concept, design to delivery.
Plastering became a necessary skill to learn living in old properties like a Glasgow tenement. Walls and ceilings always need some repair and I love the transformation from damaged to pristine. Working as a gallery technician also means building many new walls for paintings.
£150 - £300
Inspired by my Great Grandfather who played in the Gordon Highlanders, I have been playing bagpipes for 30 years. Over the years I have played in a few bands like Bucksburn and District and Soar Alba Pipes and Drums. I am available for any occasion including weddings, surprise Hen Do's, funerals and my favourite, piping at the top of your last munro..!!
Everyone's got a project. Big or small, fully realised or not, I can help you out. Flat renovations, boat conversions, picture framing, water damage repairs, skylight installs or just a few hundred canvas stretchers.
